Stirling Hillwalking Club (SHC) is run by volunteers.
Walks are arranged and led by Walk Organisers (WO) who will provide information on the walk length, height gain and grading (the grading indicates the conditions underfoot and the steepness). The description of the walk is given for information
only and no warranty is given as to the accuracy of this information.
Any walk carries an element of risk and all participants in walks organised by SHC must take personal responsibility for his/her own safety:

- make enquiries with the WO if you are in doubt about the nature of the walk
- ensure that you are sufficiently fit to tackle the advertised walk
- ensure that you are properly equipped for changing conditions on the hills; essential equipment includes – hillwalking boots; wind and waterproof clothing; adequate food and drink; emergency equipment e.g. survival bag, first aid kit, whistle and torch
- stay in sight of the WO and walk at the pace of the group
- follow the WO’s instructions
- let the WO know if you wish to leave the walk e.g. a comfort stop
- be aware of hazards
- have an “In Case of Emergency (ICE)” contact number on your mobile
